FPGA Open 2025 design contest launched in Da Nang

The Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Centre for Research and Training (DSAC) under the Authority of the High-Tech Parks and Industrial Zones launched the FPGA Open 2025 design contest on Monday.

To inspire passion, raise awareness, and develop research and microchip design skills among students in Da Nang, DSAC partnered with international companies including Gowin Semiconductor, Willas Electronics, Sonix, OneKiwi Technology, and Leci Ltd to organise a large-scale contest along with an intensive training programme.

The preliminary round of the competition is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2025. Meanwhile, the final round and award ceremony will be slated at the end of 2025. A first, a second, three third and many other consolation prizes will be given to outstanding contestants.

In parallel with the competition, DSAC will cooperate with accompanying enterprises to organize a free FPGA training programme for local students.

Also at the launching ceremony, DSAC and its partners signed Memoranda of Understanding on boosting the training of semiconductor human resources and the organisation of the FPGA Open 2025.

Under the deal, the partners Gowin Semiconductor Company, Willas Electronics, Onekiwi Technology, Leci Ltd., and Semiconductor Test Vietnam will sponsor US$ 8,000 in cash and in kind for the competition.

On the occasion, 4 finalists of the second edition of the circuit design competition for smart cities in 2024, 2 teams entering the semi-finals of the 2025 Imagine Cup World Championship, and 3 teams winning the National Prize in the Central region of Imagine Cup 2025, were honored for their outstanding achievements.

Furthermore, DSAC awarded certificates to 41 outstanding students who completed the intensive training programme “Intel Gaudi and AI Software Platform”.
