In his remarks at the ceremony, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang sent his best wishes to civil servants, public employees, and medical workers in the city’s health sector. He hoped that generations of doctors, nurses, medical staff, and workers in the city’s health sector will make more efforts to overcome many difficulties and devote all their efforts to the noble mission of “preventing, treating and saving people”.
He highly lauded the city’s health sector for its important achievements in caring for, protecting and improving people’s health, thereby affirming its role and position as a specialized healthcare centre and a nucleus of the region and the whole country. The city’s medical services and infrastructure meet international standards, gradually meeting the medical examination and treatment needs of local people.
Up to now, the city has a fairly complete health system with many specialties and modern techniques, meeting the medical examination and treatment needs of both locals and people in the central region. Many health indicators of the city are at a high level compared to the whole country.
The city’s health sector has synchronously deployed many solutions to improve the quality of healthcare services for people. Thanks to that, the health indicators of the city’s people have been significantly improved. The average life expectancy of Da Nang people in 2024 reached 76.3 years old, higher than the national average.
In particular, Da Nang was one of the localities most heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the great determination and solidarity of the entire political system, doctors, nurses and medical staff of the city’s health sector have strived to overcome all difficulties, hardships and losses to control the pandemic, significantly contributing to protecting people’s health and stabilising the city’s socio-economic development.

We are proud of medical staff of the city’s health sector who are not only doctors who treat patients, but also “silent white blouse soldiers” on the front line to protect, care for, and improve people’s health” Secretary Quang emphasised.
The city Party chief also took the opportunity to request the city’s health sector to uphold its glorious tradition, and constantly improve its professional qualifications, management capacity, and operation at grassroots level in the coming time.
He stated that medical workers must constantly study and improve their professional qualifications, and medical skills and ethics, thereby, arousing and spreading a positive spirit and responsibility, and creating new motivation to contribute to the development of the city.

Importance should be attached to having a mechanism to attract domestic and foreign resources to invest in specialised and high-quality health care.
Mr. Quang also stressed the necessity for the Department to strengthen the system of preventive and primary healthcare services; develop community health; and professionalize out-of-hospital emergency activities; and increase investment in the health care infrastructure system in a modern, synchronous and specialized manner. The purpose is to ensure that all people are protected and provided with comprehensive healthcare services.
Efforts should be made to gradually develop a smart disease prevention system, as well as assist people with easily accessing medical information to use highly effective medical services and improve their health continuously and throughout their lives, contributing to building a smart medical city, he noted.
