7,400 social policy families have houses built or repaired for 5 years

According to the Da Nang Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, local social policy families will receive 60 million VND each to build their new houses, and between 20 and 30 million VND each to repair their downgraded ones. In addition, each of the families will be presented a DVB-T2 integrated TV.

Over the past 5 years, a total of over 223 billion VND has gone to help 7,400 social policy families build their new houses or repair their downgraded ones.

In detail, 83 billion VND out of 223 billion VND came from the national government’s budget, 44 billion VND from the city budget, 29 billion VND from the districts’ budgets, 25 billion VND from local departments and agencies, organisations, military forces and the Gratitude Fund, and 42 billion VND from businesses.

In addition, a total of 7,400 DVB-T2 integrated TVs, totalling around 20 billion VND, have been given to the social policy families.

So far this year, a total of 2,400 social policy families have had their houses rebuilt or repaired, exceeding 6.55% of the year’s target.

Deputy Director of the Department Thai Dinh Hoang affirmed that in addition to fulfilling the city’s socio-economic development target, the municipal authorities have paid special attention to caring for war invalids, families of martyrs and those who made great contributions to the nation’s revolutionary cause.

“Heed will be paid to re-checking local social policy families who are living in degraded houses in order to put them onto the list of beneficiaries in need of help for next year”, he noted.
