Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council Tran Phuoc Son represented the municipal government to receive the award at the awards ceremony.
2023 marks the first time that the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organisation (WeGO) in collaboration with the Seoul government have launched the Seoul Smart City Prize.
The award aimed to promote an innovative, comprehensive smart city model, shortening the digital gap in the era of the Industry 4.0.
This core mission served as the basis for two categories of the Seoul Smart City Prize: Tech-InnovaCity and Human-CentriCity.
The jury panel included experts from all fields in smart cities, from artificial intelligence (AI), data management, e-government, social organisations, non-governmental organisations, international development cooperation, and urban planning and development.
Previously, in 2019, Da Nang was honoured with the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) Smart City Award 2019 at the ASOCIO International Smart City Summit 2019.
Aside from being an official member of WeGO, Da Nang is a member of the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN).
