Over the past 8 months, this agency has received 9 environmental impact assessment reports, and 24 environmental protection plans from businesses. The handling of most of these documents has been finished before the due date.
In particular, the agency has reduced its handling time to 22-25 days from 40 days as set by the Administrative Procedure Law for environmental impact assessment and approval procedures.
Mr Nguyen Van Phu, the Director of Daiwa Viet Nam Co., Ltd, said the municipal authorities have showed their great efforts in accelerating administrative reforms, and facilitating investors to operate in the city through assigning the task to this agency in which covers environmental impact assessment and approval.
Mr Phu also noted that the agency is responsible for directly managing and regularly monitoring all operations of businesses based in IPs, so it is easy for the unit to shorten time taken for handling administrative procedures.
Moreover, the agency has been focusing on raising awareness of businesses operating in IPs about environmental protection.
Since the start of this year, the agency has launched 3 environmental clean-up campaigns, and encouraged enterprises operating in IPs to ensure environmental sanitation.
