During his meeting with the city Party chief, Russian Consul General in Da Nang Brovarets Andrei asked for help from the city authorites to create more favourable conditions for his agency to ensure its effective operation, hereby contributing to accelerating the ties between Da Nang and Russian localities.
Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Xi Hui expressed her great delight at positive results from the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and such Chinese localities as Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, Macao Special Administrative Region, and Kunming City, over recent years.
During his reception for Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam Parvathaneni Harish, Secretary Nghia highly appreciated the growing bilateral relationship, especially since the two countries jointly upgraded their ties into the comprehensive strategic partnership in September 2016.
In particular, it was honour for Da Nang to welcome Indian President Ram Nath Kovind during his 3-day State-level visit to Viet Nam last November at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong.
The multi-faceted cooperation between Da Nang and India has been strengthened considerably, especially in education, culture and arts.
The city’s total exports to India between January and September 2018 hit an estimated 1.5 million USD.
Besides, the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture and the National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology in India have jointly entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on the compilation and publication of the catalogue entitled ‘Cham Sculpture of Viet Nam and the relationship with Indian arts, which features research into 50 sculptures belonging to the Da Nang museum’s own collection.
In a similar vein, the city’s museum is now joining forces with the National Museum of India in studying and compiling a book introducing the relationship between the Cham sculpture and the Indian art.
The host also said his city needs a helping hand from Ambassador Pavathaneni Harish in appealing to Indian investors for pouring their money into the city’s Hi-Tech, Software, and dedicated Information Technology parks in the coming time.
The Indian guest, in reply, underlined a need for the two sides, in the years ahead, to conduct more cooperative activities in the aspects of economy, trade, education, tourism, and delegation exchanges.
