Da Nang launches attractive 2025 beach tourism season

Da Nang beaches have many advantages to attract a large number of local residents and tourists near and far, therefore, relevant agencies and businesses are implementing roundups of exciting and attractive activities, ready for the 2025 beach tourism season.

According to Mr. Dao Dang Cong Trung, the co-founder of Da Nang Free Diving, entering the summer, tours combining free-diving, a mode of underwater diving that relies on breath-holding until resurfacing rather than the use of breathing apparatus such as scuba gear, to see fish, see coral and capture impressive images are becoming more and more popular, attracting locals, domestic and foreign tourists. This activity requires participants to know how to swim and dive, so before joining the diving tour, visitors must go through at least six lessons including theory and practice plus a test of swimming and diving skills.

“When it comes to sea tourism, we cannot ignore scuba diving to see corals. When immersing ourselves in the ocean, visitors can see with their own eyes the colourful coral reefs, diverse ecosystems with many different species of creatures and animals… The Da Nang Free Diving has been operating scuba diving services for more than two years and we consider this a unique tourism product, exploiting the city’s marine potential, especially in the summer. To improve the quality of service, in addition to expertise, we also strictly adhere to ensuring the safety of visitors, protecting the environment, not leaving trash in the sea, preserving and rescuing marine animals…”, said Mr. Trung.

Along with scuba diving, parasailing, windsurfing, sup rowing units are also preparing for this year’s sea tourism season. As reported by Mr. Le Dinh Tung, the owner of Tung Le SUP (Stand up paddle boarding), in the past two years, this SUP activity has flourished, on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 and in the summer, it is likely to be overloaded. With the high demand of players, many SUP businesses have been established, so the competition is also high, so he carefully prepares equipment and coaches to serve tourists well and return to use the service.

According to General Director of the Viet An Group Corporation Nguyen Thanh Tam, as for sea tourism, the unit designs separate tour programmes with strong local identity but still ensures professionalism, multilingualism and flexibility in time for international visitors. Specifically, eco-tour packages to explore Son Tra, combining new and unique trips to the forest and sea by green and safe means, and underwater exploration such as scuba diving will have guides who can communicate in English, Chinese and Korean.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, the Deputy Director of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, in order to maximise the attraction of sea tourism, since 2014, the Da Nang People’s Committee has agreed to assign the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches Management Board to organise an annual sea tourism season event on the occasion of the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1) holidays.

Up to now, the programme has become a cultural, sports and tourism event with many rich and attractive activities. This year’s 2025 sea tourism season takes place for six days, from April 26 to May 1 at the East Sea Park and tourist beaches and on the Son Tra Peninsula.

In particular, the main activities taking place at the East Sea Park include artistic kite performances, SUP competitions, summer sea swimming competitions, sailing performances, sea sports performances, International Sea Rescue competitions, and Yoga performances.

“The 2025 sea tourism season programme takes place right on the occasion of the April 30 and May 1 holidays to serve the large number of tourists flocking to the city for entertainment. We focus on activities in the East Sea Park area, where there are beaches that attract domestic and foreign tourists. In addition, we set up check-in models at the Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach, and coordinate with Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu districts to mobilise businesses to prepare facilities to serve local tourists. Throughout the summer, there are many attractive entertainment activities at the beaches with good quality sea sports tourism products”, said Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu.
