The central government decree which increases the regional minimum wages will take effect from 20 January. This is considered to be good news for employees nationwide, but will impose considerable difficulties on many enterprises in the context of the current global economic downturn.
At present, some of Da Nang’s enterprises are facing many difficulties in paying salaries to their employees, as well as adjusting their financial plans, following the issuance of the new decree. Many of them are suffering from shrinking production and are struggling to shoulder the burden of salary payments. As a result, many local businesses are expected to cut back on Tet bonuses for their employees.

All the trade unions in the city’s industrial parks will grant allowances to 44,000 employees. This will help to give them a warm and happy Tet, and enhance their working spirit after the holiday.
