Venture capital fund for startups to make its debut at SURF 2019

It is noticeable that a venture capital fund for startups will make its debut at the upcoming 4th International Startup Conference and Exhibition in Da Nang – SURF 2019, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam.

Themed ‘Promoting the city’s resources to develop creative startup ecosystems’, this year’s event is scheduled to take place on 1 November at the Hai Chau District-based  Eden Plaza Da Nang.

This much-awaited event is expected to see the participation of municipal government leaders, domestic and international partners, start-up supporters, investors, mentors, and startup entrepreneurs.

In particular, SURF 2019 will see the participation of world-leading Startup ecosystems, especially the attendance of the Finnish Startups billionaire – Mr. Peter Vesterbecka – the founder of SLUSH, ‘Mighty Eagle’ of the famous Angry Birds game development team.

Under the agenda, there are main conferences, attended by a total of about 30 speakers and experts, on the development of start-up resources, finance, human resources, technology, and other related aspects in the city.

In addition, the Startup Exhibition featuring 70 booths and the SURF Pitching Competition 2019 take place within the framework of the event.

SURF 2019 aims to turn Da Nang into a creative startup hub of the region, linking startup ecosystems of localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions, and connect international resources with local communities.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh affirmed that SURF is one of the most important annual events of the city’s startup community with the goal of promoting the linkage in building the startup ecosystem, attracting even more investment capital, technology, and human resources to the city.
