Da Nang Party chief visits some units after Tet

Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, on Wednesday, visited a number of units to inspect the implementation of tasks at the beginning of the new lunar year. He was accompanied by Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh.

During his visit to the Danang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training – DSAC, Secretary Quang highly lauded its outstanding achievements after one year of establishment, and at the same time, listened to the sharing and proposals of the centre’s staff and employees.

He informed that, on December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. This was an important resolution because the country was in need of strong, strategic and revolutionary policies and decisions to create new momentum.

The city also clearly identified the goals and tasks to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which is to fully utilize databases to develop artificial intelligence (AI), and apply AI in many areas of life, he added.

Visiting the new headquarters of the Da Nang Centre for Startup and Innovation Support under the Department of Science and Technology at 58 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, the top leader proposed to increase the application of science and technology and support for startup and innovation projects, boost innovation connection activities, and raise awareness and determination to develop science, technology and innovation.

Mr. Quang requested the contractor to mobilise human resources and materials to ensure the on-schedule construction progress of the Western Ring Road project (a section through the Information Technology Park) during his inspection visit to the construction site of the project.

He stressed the necessity for relevant units to urgently carry out site clearance work, and remove difficulties and obstacles to serve the project construction.

At the construction site of the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan section of the North-South Expressway, the city Party chief Quang praised the People’s Committee of Hoa Vang District for great efforts in ensuring the progress of site clearance.

He urged the construction unit and the management board to take advantage of favourable weather to speed up the project item, and strive to complete the entire main route by August 30, 2025.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Management Board (project investor), the construction progress is currently being accelerated, the project items are being implemented on schedule, especially ensuring traffic safety on the route during the recent Tet holiday. According to the plan, the entire route (including the frontage road) is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.
